June 2010

Happy June....

This has been a busy year so far...
With 3 kids in school and a lot of active projects, I hardly have time to catch up on my own e-mail and letters, let alone think bout what I have done this week...

The kids are getting bigger and busier...

David is finishing up 2nd Grade and is doing very well.... Today he had his first experience with acting... his class presented "Reader's Theater" and David was one of the few kids who just about Memorized his lines, and got fully animated into his character of "James, The Butler" to the 3rd Elephant in "The 3 Big Elephants and the Big Bad Mouse"... a cute twist on the traditional fairy tale.

Alexander is finishing up Kindergarten and has done very well this year.  He is reading and writing, doing his math and seems to engage in every activity he tries.  He has  a lot of friends and truly enjoys playing and simply being a kid.

Fiona is ever the Drama Queen...  At 4 years old she is very active.  Sinse Christmas she has begun piano lessons in an effort to calm her ever engaging mind.  She has done very well and is now treating the piano as an instrument rather than as a toy...  She was in pre-school 3 mornings a week and will continue with summer school in July.  In the fall she will begin the pre-k progam at St. James.

John has been travelling A LOT recently.  Trips to North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, and New Mexico are just a few of the recent ones... most taking him away for an average of 10 days at a time...

Suzanne:  In between assisting in the boys school for Library and Art lessons, I have managed to continue my private art lessons and have several students that I teach in the afternoons.  I will be teaching some new projects at a local after-school care program in September and will use my Summer Studio program to try out some new supplies and work on some of my teaching methods. I have added "Drawing FUNdamentals" to my curriculum in an effort to better teach the 8 - 12 year old students... that's what they are asking for...

I will add more pictures as time allows!!!
